She Did It Again !
Young, talented and a rising star of Asia, our team member Regine Lo swept four 1st Places in recent nail competition in Hong Kong for French Sculpture in Acrylic and Gels, Mixed Media and 3D Nail Art. She will once again represent Hong Kong (China) in 2010 at the World Championship in Dusseldorf. Congratulations !

Odyssey Launches ONS Mexico !
Ghenna Gonzales - a young, beautiful, multi-talented and well-known educator from Mexico will be leading Odyssey Nail Systems, Mexico. It will be a very exciting year for the ONS family with so many international educators contributing towards education, product development and innovation in designs that is cross cultural and truly global !

What an AWESOME Competition Training!
We just had the most motivational and amazing 2-day Competition Training on Acrylic Sculptured Nails with Trang Nguyen, World Champion, founder and chief educator of Odyssey Nail Systems in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia recently.
While for most, it was their first competition training, there were also participants who've faithfully attended Trang's class for their 3rd, 4th and countless times around the world. We were exceptionally thrilled that participants, both old and new from Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, China also made it to this training in Malaysia.
As a veteran in this industry for the last 24 years, and a professional competitor, Trang shared everything he knew about competition right down to the blueprint of sculpting and finishing the most perfect competition nails. Participants were given plenty of opportunity to watch upclose, receive personal attention and guidance and plenty of hands-on. Cameras and video recording were allowed to ensure that all attendees get the most out of this class.
Every class that Trang has taught is information overload and having attended more than 4 classes myself, and watched him performed countless competition nails, I STILL find my own 'A-Ha!' moment...everytime~
We've learnt so much in this 2 days. People who've never seen what a world-class winning competition nail should look like are awed by its perfection, people who have almost given up trying competition nails have found a new motivation and the technique to improve and people who thought they did good enough comp nails felt like they need to learn and practise all over again. It was truly amazing and humbling.
The attendees were also given the opportunity to catch a glimpse of creating competition gel nail which finish exactly like an acrylic nail with the new ONS Evoke - New Era Gels
It is our mission to bring more of such classes into this part of the world, to build this industry with a strong technical foundation and introduce a fair ground for nail competition so our nail skills will become on par with international standards some day.
We thank our gracious host in Malaysia ~ JJ Professional Nail Training, who are also the organizer for the 3rd Fantastic Nail Competition at the Cosmobeaute Show in Malaysia.
We are sincerely grateful to Trang Nguyen for his unwavering support in giving his valuable time and sharing such a wealth of knowledge with our people.

Team Odyssey Nailed Top Spots at Nailpro Competition
This has yet to be the most challenging season for the nailpro competitions in Premiere Orlando and IBS Las Vegas with international participation in both novice and veteran categories. It is truly a humbling experience to see so many outstanding entries and compete amongst the many bests in the industry.

VAN NUYS, CALIFORNIA—Nailpro Competition Director Jewell Cunningham recognized the Odyssey Nails team with a special award honoring their ongoing commitment to building an international dialogue on November 7, 2008.
"Vannie Luu and Trang Nguyen of Odyssey Nails have helped the Nailpro Cup become an international event by bringing in so many competitors from outside the U.S.," said Jewell Cunningham. "International competitors, such as Eunhea Won, Jisun Kim, Gunsun Kim, Dong Yeun Kim of Korea, and Catherine Wong, Patricia Wong, Hsiao-yi Lui of Singapore, brought an amazing level of sophistication to the competitions and pushed everyone to perform at a higher level."
"We believe that all nail technicians benefit from a global perspective," says Vannie Luu. "Great work is the same wherever you travel, even though training and working in Asia or Australia is very different from training and working as a nail technician in the U.S."
Under team captain Trang Nguyen, Odyssey Nails has fielded two Nailpro Cup-winning teams. Trang has been working in the nail industry for 21 years, beginning as a nail technician in California, and shortly after becoming a Licensed Instructor for the California State Board of Cosmetology. Today, he is the International Master Educator for Odyssey Nails Systems. He has competed nationally and internationally and has more than 120 trophies to his credit. ONS new gel line - Evoke was conceived with a generous heart for a good cause and to give back to society, Trang Nguyen and wife, Vannie helped build a hospital in Vietnam and the sales generated from the Evoke line of products will contribute towards the operation of this hospital. One can feel a sense of pride to be part of a team and company culture that is force for good.
